in The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha Miguel de Cervantes geniously captured an aspect of our human nature, the need to have an enemy to fight, the need for a quest to complete while fighting epic battles with this enemy; if such an enemy doesn't exist, or isn't that well defined human nature kicks in, and he is created out of thin air, thus enemies that don't exist are created and epic battles ensue, some of which must be lost (to emphasize the epicness of this enemy). The problem with such enemies is that, they are really hard to defeat, as at the end of the day you are battling yourself, your imagination, no matter how smart you get this enemy has the potential to outsmart you.
I recall George W. Bush speach when he stated that he is waging a war on terror, terror is a concept rather than an enemy, such a battle can never be won, since the definition of terror is not that clear and ever evolving, this is exactly the situation in egypt now. We had an enemy that unified the nation, a dictator, an epic battle that the nation won, and then accustomed to the taste of victory another enemy is needed, another epic battle followed by a last minute victory is needed, having no clear enemy now, no focal point to concentrate on. Imaginary enemies are being created left and right. Battles that serve no purpose are waged, won or lost it doesn't matter, as the battle is the purpose. Perhaps part of this is because for once reality moved faster than our imagination, the fact that we won haven't sunk in all the way; the problem is if we go on like this will end up batteling ourselves, and loosing, since there is no way to win such a battle.
In reality all of this doesn't matter, we've already crossed the threshold and we are on the other side, the dragon has been slayed, all we need to do now is to concentrate and build.
You can't battle
Salafis: because they aren't an entity, its a concept that has so many different diffinitions.
Christians: because they are a part of the country, part of us.
Flool: because even flool can be reintegrated into society, you can fight what they are doing, but not them.
SCAF: because they aren't an entity you can fight with.
Bottom line, this country is sick and needs therapy.
